In Lewis's words:
I was quite pleased to visit your site, so many of the little beauties! When I was ten or so I saw my first GT6 going down the road. I was already in love with the Jag XKE but the size of the GT6 really set me off, I knew right then I had to have one. Later in college I was talking with some friends and the subject of cars came up, I told about my desire for my dream car. One of my buddy's friends said "Cool, I'm selling mine", "right" I say, "Don't tease me". I bought that car for $800 on April fool's day, 1976, I was 19 at the time. I was ecstatic! In 1980 I sold it to someone in Iowa to raise money to move back near the ocean, the job in Iowa ended and I couldn't wait to leave, no tuna to be caught there! I was quite sad to see it go. This past October I bought the same car back, completely restored, one or two flaws that only a "real" TR person might spot, otherwise incredible. I've since been divorced, nothing to do with the car, no some guy named George became an issue among many other issues. It has been the victim of a parking lot hit and run, and one night while stopped at a traffic light a drunk in a pickup truck slammed into me. $3179.23 in repairs, $3000 in car rentals, all payed by his insurance. She's back and looking good. Attached is her pic, and some ugly idiot(me) blocking the view.

Well hello there, I stumbled onto this page by a reference to it @ www.triumph.com and it made me smile ear to ear. It was nice to know that not everyone has a show quality car (like myself) and some people only have a bucket of parts and a dream. I bought my GT6 2 years ago and have been trying to go through the car with a fine toothed comb....well, it has been very slow going for the reason of work and funds and most of all, knowledge. Considering my age (23) I plan on having this car for quite some time, my dream is to see it as beautiful as it once was. I fell in love with the car the moment I saw it, its small white bulbous roof poking out from the grass....under normal circumstances I would never buy a car buried in the grass up to its roof, but it was irresistible. The car has a very foggy history...I only know of 3 owners, having found 2 of them, I find out that the first owner used it for racing - throwing on various aftermarket parts and "modifying" it just a smidge. I will keep you posted on progress as I contemplate a full home-job resto. Here is a picture of my GT6, please note that it has some rocker panel mods that will be removed prior to the cars completion, the rear valance is destroyed, and it has a GT6+ bonnet on it - it is a hodgepodge of parts - but its still all Triumph.
